ATVs are very much beneficial for agriculture especially for precision farming

When we speak about All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), we are not only talking about races, although the rise in popularity of ATVs can perhaps be largely attributed to the races involving these types of vehicles. In this article we want to look at ATV benefits on agriculture.
There has been much development in agriculture over the past decades. Various innovations in technology have made researches easier, faster and more reliable. Thousands of studies have been conducted for the development of different varieties of crops resistant to different environmental factors like drought or flood. Moreover, studies have also led to the invention of machines to meet different needs in the field. All these developments have not only lessened manual labor; they have also increased productivity in many farming areas.
Probably the most advance among all agricultural practices is what they call precision farming. Precision farming is highly dependent on advance technologies such as satellite imaging for accurate soil analysis, pest incidence analysis, and also the study of other variables which affects crop growth and yield. In a nutshell, these technologies serve as a guide (although, of course, not limited to that) to the farmers as to what crops to choose, what fertilizers to apply, etc., to achieve maximum productivity.
One of the latest innovations in agricultural technology which is very useful for precision farming is ATV. We're not talking about the regular ATVs here or those ATVs built for racing; we're talking about ATVs with GPS and with rugged tablet PCs. These ATVs are identified by SOYL Precision Farming, a UK-based company helping farmers implement and benefit from precision farming, as the answer to carrying out their services related to precision farming.
'Wait, did you mention Tablets'? Yes, tablets. Were you surprised? You might be asking, 'What do you mean? Yes, tablets can definitely be used for agriculture, but aren't they for office and home use only'? Nope! Not anymore. Most tablets, definitely, are created for home and/or office use. However, there are also tablets specially designed and created for agriculture, most specifically to be mounted on ATVs.
Most, ideally mounted on All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) with GPS, rugged tablet PCs bring technology out of the office to the field. The emergence of rugged tablet PCs crosses the border of having to do your stuff inside your office or of your farm lab. This is made possible by allowing you to bring your tablet out to the farm. Then and there, when you're on the field, you can review pertinent information and do computations using your tablet.
What makes rugged tablet PC different from all other tablets? When you think about tablets, you think of delicate gadgets which should not be exposed to water, sunlight, shock, etc. because doing so might mean saying goodbye to them and having to spend again for another one. Rugged tablets are not.
They have a magnesium alloy enclosure, rubber bumpers and special sealing, which allow you to use them on the field, even mounted on ATVs, without worrying about it being damaged. They are purposely built to withstand damage from shock, water, sunlight and dirt. Smaller and lighter than laptops, you can bring them to the field holding as you walk or having them on board your ATV.
What about their performance and functionality? Not only are tablets mounted on ATVs should be durable enough, they also are, as they should be, powerful in terms of communication. It is recommended that they have GPS, WiFi, etc., for instant communication and data capture. They should also offer reliable and accurate GPS functionality.
In summary, ATVs are very much beneficial for agriculture especially for precision farming. Can't wait to have your own ATV with GPS and rugged tablet PC on it? Considering the ATV benefits on agriculture, I can't blame you.
